Does Serbia have a clear strategic plan for development, or is it merely reacting to external interests? Are we becoming a mining colony? What does the Jadar project tell us about the systemic approach to decision-making? Is it possible to reconcile economic development with environmental preservation when it comes to lithium exploitation? In this episode, we talk to Aleksandar Matković, a research associate at the Institute of Economic Sciences, who points out that Serbia lacks a strategic development plan, and that the Jadar project is precisely a consequence of this planning vacuum. We also discuss the potential and risks of ecological lithium mining, as well as the need for national unity in decision-making about projects that will shape our country in the long term.
